Københavns Kommunes Kultur- og Fritidsudvalg skal på et ordinært møde torsdag 26. april behandle et forslag om at Sofiegades Badeanstalt bliver ombygget.
Det er foreningen bag Sofiegades Badeanstalt, som foreslår en ombygning for i alt 6,15 mio. kr. Og foreningen søger kommunen om 2,85 mio. kr.
Sofiegades Badeanstalt på Christianshavn blev bygget i 1909 og er den ældste i København. Badeanstalten blev fredet af Kulturarvsstyrelsen i 2000. Samme år blev Foreningen "Christianshavns Agenda 21, Bade- og Sundhedshus" dannet - med det formål at bevare badeanstalten og stå for badeanstaltens arrangementer og den daglige drift.
Foreningen vil indrette kurbad, velvære- og bevægelsesaktiviteter samt tværkulturelle aktiviteter i badeanstalten., med bl.a. tyrkisk bad (hamam), bassinhus med vandrensningsanlæg, handicaptoilet, sauna med tilknyttet varmt og koldt bassin.
Lokale- og Anlægsfonden har allerede givet 2,00 mio. kr. under forudsætning af, at Københavns Kommune også går ind i ombygningen, og en række andre fonde har bevilget 1,3 mio. kr.
Kultur- og Fritidsforvaltningen vurderer, at en ombygning vil gøre den historiske badeanstalt endnu mere attraktiv, og derfor anbefaler forvaltningen, at Kultur- og Fritidsudvalget lader de ansøgte 2,85 mio. kr. indgå i forhandlingerne om budget 2008.
